It all began with a blog post.
10 True Things About the First Year of Parenthood bumped my little blog into the stratosphere, generating millions of likes and shares. After landing on Huffington Post’s Best of 2013 list, 10 True Things has been translated into dozens of languages and spread sincere parent-to-parent support around the world.
When I started offering bio packages, I realized I’d identified a unique gift.
Writing bios allowed me to hone and share my unique ability to hear the sparkle in a client or brand, and define their purpose in a meaningful, motivating way. My bio clients often share with me how reading their bio or About Me page brought them to tears, helped them realize what they’d been working toward, or made them feel confident in their work for the first time.
As far as I was concerned, that ability to show folks their own power - that was the big magic.
Magic is what keeps me in the game today.
I actively seek clients and projects I truly believe in, because I’ve seen how the right words can create revolution. I’ve watched the way a article written less like a sales pitch and more like a love letter can not only sell product, but also genuinely improve lives. When we can both/and - grow your business AND support our fellow humans - then I’m exactly where I want to be in the world, doing exactly what I love to do.
That single article
opened the door to brand partnerships.
I spent my first few years as a copywriter in the baby/parent space, with a focus in babywearing education and advocacy.
And the magic isn’t just for grownups.
In 2018, I began to partner with my husband, Ben Grace, as a lyricist for children’s television projects. Together, we wrote 12 songs for Season 2 of Australian series Larry the Wonderpup, 20 songs for Peacock Jr.’s Babble Bop Season 1. We are currently writing another set of original songs for Babble Bop Season 2.
